Rod Mullen Biography
Biography After receiving his B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley, Rod Mullen attended the San Francisco Art Institute where he studied photography under master photographer John Collier, a member of the renowned documentary photographic project of the Farm Security Administration of the Depression era. Class in photography from Harry Callahan, recognized as one of the most

Rod then completed an in-depth photographic study of an economically depressed
and socially turbulent neighborhood in West Oakland during the civil rights
movement of the 60’s. These photographs are housed in the archives
of San Francisco State University. Rod Mullen's recent photographic work can be seen on permanent display with monthly, rotating images.
